I've been on TV for a 'couple' of years and found it occasionally interesting, but with far too many flaws to take seriously. The newest addition, the flash ads that cannot be frozen with the [Esc] key (Firefox), are especially irritating.

I would only suggest for WOT, that if your plan is simply to have an ad-free version of TV, I doubt that I will hang around. That being said, I do believe there is a place for a better quality forum about Thailand. Especially if it has a higher signal to noise ratio.

I actually believe that reasonable advertising is perfectly okay. Although, 80 ads on the main forum page is a bit much, IMO. And PLEASE, no flashing magenta colored ads!

A forum that discourages bitter and antagonistic posts that are not quite flames but serve no purpose to topic or to mankind would be an appeal. Another irritant about TV is the moderation of posts honestly critical of advertisers.

We agree with all you said about TV.

Also thank you for reporting the spam. We deleted it and banned that user.

We will be installing some very effective anti-spam posting tools as the forum grows.

Since you have considerable experience, you would make a great moderator and site advisor

Thanks for the kind words, but I don't think I would make a very good mod. I may send you a PM from time to time.

About the SPAM. In the section on TV where I tend to hang out, the members do a very good job of scolding spammers. I honestly believe that the only members of a forum who like SPAM are the spammers. Maybe that attitude will take hold here.

Also, today I installed some software that will not allow new members to post links and images until they have been around for a while. We will have to tune the antispam tools, based on traffic patterns.
