Default Are the antiques real?

What's up with all these antiques in Thailand?

Some are real and many are fakes. If you are interested in real antiques, you must do business with a highly reputable dealer. If the deal looks to good to be true, then it is a fake, more than likely. Trust your instincts.

Yes, if you bury the wooden ones, the look very old very fast :-)

Chemical aging is also common.

I once had a antique Buddha that looks so nice. I wrapped it tightly in cellophane and waited a few months, took off the wrapper, and you could smell the chemical residue very strong
