I want to visit Issan. Where are the best places to visit?

A lot of folks like Nong Khai. It's okay, but my favorites are Nakhon Panom and Mukduhan. If you're looking for nightlife, try Korat, Khon Kaen and Udorn.

I meet a lot of people from Korat, but have never been there. Nong Khai is quiet, as I recall. Maybe that is changing with the casinos in Lao?

Hi, Isaan is such a big place to explore. Ive been living here (near Mukdahan) for 8 years and Ive still got lots to see. It really is the "unseen Thailand" and fun. I agree, Nong Khai is a great spot, visit the "sculpture Park" go on down to Nakhon Phanom, its also a great spot and a nice drive down. I like Odon Thani for night life. And Mukdahan can be fun. If you have time, come on down to our Guesthouse. We serve a real Steak meal. We have nice Villas and lots of Animals. Its in a "Phu Thai " village. Ask any questions, Id love to help you enjoy Isaan.
