Default Quick Take On Lots of Thai Cuture

Tourist or long-time expat .. anyone who hasn't visited Muang Boran aka The Ancient City really owes it to themselves to spend a day or two there. That place is great. Last year I visited for the first time.

The place is not some cheesy tourist trap. It's almost 1,000 rai of faithful reproductions of important cultural icons. A 5/8 scale of the Grand Palace and about 150 more chedis, buildings, etc. Not too crowded, lunch there is good and reasonably priced. A park-like setting, nice statuary, etc., etc.

The place belongs to a very famous architect and displays are still being added. Signs at each attraction are in Thai and English. A very nice booklet that goes into more detail about each is available as well.

Not expensive considering the experience, out toward Samut Prakhan. Cars can go inside, bicycles and electric golf cars for rent.
